The air is cold and crisp, carrying the faint scent of snow. You can almost hear the wind whispering through the valley, brushing across the frozen ground.
Hi, I’m Sean Hudson, and you’re looking at my piece titled Troublesome.
This painting wasn’t created from a photograph—it’s from memory. I find that painting from memory allows me to capture not just what a place looks like, but how it feels. It’s about distilling the essence of a moment, the atmosphere, and the quiet stillness of a winter landscape.
People often tell me, “I feel like I’ve been there,” when they see my work. And maybe they have—at least, in spirit. My paintings aren’t about a specific location but rather a shared experience of the Colorado landscape. They reflect places that feel familiar, timeless, and deeply connected to the land.
Thank you for spending a moment with Troublesome. I hope it brings a sense of calm, reflection, and connection to the beauty of the world around us.
