Moment of Silence

Hi! Welcome to a "Moment of Silence". This piece is constructed out of hundreds of strips of paper that are adhered on their edges. Each strip is three-eighths of an inch off the background and as long as each defining line of the composition requires. From my point of view, this is a minimalist representation of a jagged, steep mountain peak, with a body of water behind it and a softer mountain range in the distance. The light source comes from the left. But please, allow your own imagination to wander. If you take a few steps back, its three-dimensional quality will bring the paper strips to life. Moving slowly from side to side, some mountain sections will move with you. Movement accentuates the contrast and interaction between the paper strips, background, and the light in the environment.
