Tightrope

For the majority of my art career, my paintings have largely focused solely on the human figure.  I place my subjects in surrealist dreamscapes where familiar spaces can merge with the otherworldly. I draw much of my inspiration from classical drawing, painting, and religious iconography, and it is this foundation of tradition and craftsmanship that serves as a touchstone for my creative process.

While capturing the likeness of my subject is of high priority, I make an effort to strike a balance between deliberately rendering form and responding intuitively.
