I'm Andy Meade from Fort Collins. My painting, "Katmandu Two", celebrates the capital of Nepal. Katmandu sits in a steep bowl high up in the Himalayas, and as such, from many, many, many, areas of the city. You can see across the valley and get this exciting panorama of the city's buildings climbing up the mountainside.
What made this scene especially attractive to paint is the Nepalese cultural preference for painting their buildings in bright, joyful colors. I've heard the piece compared to a Where's Waldo illustration. I'm okay with that. And in that vein, I will share that somewhere in the painting, there is at least one human and one palm tree.
Can you find them?
