Quartz Cage Chandelier Earrings

Artist Baleigh Acebo handcrafted these one-of-a-kind, solid gold earrings from one ingot of recycled 18k gold. Bits and baubles of gold were melted down into a crucible and poured into a mold to create a gold ingot. From here, the artist milled and handworked the ingot into various shapes and dimensions to create usable stock to hand fabricate each element of this piece. The goal was to to design and build a lightweight but dimensional pair of earrings that mimic the natural inclusions in the rutilated quartz cabochons.
