Being an Artist - the Creative Process of making art has given me the ability to stay in touch with my 6 or 7 year old inner child that still loves to draw and color. Making Art is and has always been my sanctuary, it the place where I can explore different possibilities and not have to be tied to the results. The only person that I have to please is myself. My process is very simple, I start with small drawings on Graff paper that consist of basic geometric shapes; Squares, Triangles, Rectangles and Circles. I arrange the different shapes in various sizes that overlap and connect with each other in ways that create the illusion of depth, space and movement. I do a lot of these basic drawings until I have several working possibilities. The next step in the process is the refinement of the drawings, using color pencils and or markers I start to explore the use of color to enhance the desired illusion. Again this can be process in its self, when a I have reached a decision on a possible final painting I construct the canvas and transfer the basic drawing to the canvas. Remembering that this is still only a painting in the creative stage, I start to apply pigment to the canvas and hope that the results are successful. This part of the creative process is where the Magic happens. Please spend a little time looking at this piece of art, the longer you look the more you will see. Thank you & enjoy!
