Architectural work has always been something which has drawn my attention, which may be in part to growing up in Chicago. Over time I have found when looking at structures there are elements which can be isolated to communicate what I see when viewing the building. These details can communicate differently to everyone, but in the end will draw out parts which may have not been noticed before in the structure as a whole.
This image was taken when walking around a college campus on an August morning. With some clouds the soft light provided some even light for capturing the details of the buildings. When coming across this building it was the colors that brought my attention to the subject. Just shifting my location by a little, I was able to capture the three levels of balconies on the building with their vivid red color.
