Shove Chapel

1010 N. Nevada Ave

Shove Chapel, a prime example of Norman Romanesque architecture in Colorado, was a generous gift from CC Trustee Eugene Percy Shove during the Great Depression. The chapel continues to serve the campus community as a venue for classes, lectures, meetings, and various programs, including two annual concerts by the college choir. Its traditional architecture and interfaith nature make the chapel a popular choice for weddings. A distinguished musical program, featuring the ongoing Distinguished Organists Series, has brought world-renowned organists to Colorado College. In recognition of its architectural and historical significance, Shove Memorial Chapel was listed in the National Register of Historic Places in 2005.
