Colorado Springs Independent

235 S. Nevada Ave

One time home to Citizen’s Project, a local non-profit founded in 1992 by Amy Divine and Doug Triggs to promote civil liberties and combat religious intolerance in Colorado Springs. Among the founding board members was Burce Loeffler, Associate Professor of Geology at Colorado College. Over the years numerous CC students have worked externships and fellowships for the organization that continues to raise awareness regarding voting rights and the separation of church and state in the Pikes Peak region.  Today, the Citizen Project offices are housed in the Poor Richard’s complex on North Tejon where they continue to advocate for equality, diversity, and pluralism.
