830 N. Tejon St
Site of the former Renaissance Revival style Plaza Hotel completed in 1901 for $80,000 by local builders W.W. and G.F. Atkinson. A local magazine described it as a “first class hotel” with 120 rooms and 23 bathrooms. As women students began to enroll in significant numbers in the early 20th century, the builders added a three-story west wing known as "South Hall." This wing was leased exclusively to Colorado College for a women's dormitory that could accommodate thirty students. However, by 1902, McGregor Hall opened on campus, becoming the second women's dormitory at CC.
