The Edith Kinney Gaylord Building, an interdisciplinary arts center equipped with state-of-the-art technology, was designed by renowned Albuquerque architect Antoine Predock and opened in 2008. Born March 5, 1916, in Oklahoma City, Edith Kinney Gaylord was the daughter of a newspaper editor and publisher. After attending Colorado College, Gaylord embarked on a groundbreaking career as a journalist with the Associated Press. As noted by the Inasmuch Foundation, Gaylord was a "Quiet Philanthropist," anonymously donating millions to various causes including education, health, arts, historic preservation, and journalism.
