Intersection of Cascade & Cache La Poudre

Site of CC student “sit-in protests” against the Vietnam War.

As CC Alumna Valerie Hanna, class of 2018 wrote, “Student Activism had long been central to the liberal arts experience at Colorado College, and during the 1960s and early ‘70s, students began engaging in new ways with social justice issues beyond the scope of CC’s campus.” As Les Goss, class of 1972 remembered, “Being on an urban campus, we organized many sit-ins, blocking traffic on the intersections of Cascade and Cache La Poudre…to protest the war and make our conviction seen and heard beyond Colorado College.
