Richard Skorman ’75, opened a bookstore on North Tejon in 1975. Two years later, he opened the “Feed and Read,” offering customers the opportunity to, “browse, read, and enjoy simple meals in a friendly, unhurried atmosphere. Today, the Poor Richard’s Complex is co-owned by Richard and his spouse and business partner Patricia Seator. Skorman served on the Colorado Springs City Council for 13 years, including two years as Vice-Mayor before retiring in 2021. He was recently awarded a “Lifetime Achievement Award” by Colorado Springs Mayor, Yemi Mobolade for his tireless community advocacy.
