Meet the Narrator: Terry Alford

I’m Terry Alford, lifelong resident of Buffalo’s East Side and Executive Director of the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor, which represents close to 190 years of African American heritage, culture, and storytelling in the Buffalo-Niagara region.

The revitalization of the Central Terminal is so important to me because it served as the first stop for so many of my people escaping the South during the Great Migration who held high hopes for opportunity. Like the African American Heritage Corridor, a reimagined and improved Terminal could again serve as the beacon of hope and opportunity for so many still residing in those historic neighborhoods surrounding it.
