All Aboard for a New Journey

The relentless and unwavering determination of the CTRC’s board, staff, volunteers, and supporters to save and reuse this special place is nothing short of inspiring. Today, you’re seeing the results of that passion as we and the Broadway-Fillmore community build the Central Terminal’s second age of connection.

Our fun and free family-friendly events continue the Central Terminal’s grand tradition of connecting people and making lasting memories. At the same time, 30 acres of grounds and four buildings on the historic 61-acre site are in the process of being reinevented.

Building on the community-driven Master Plan, we’re working with development partners to fully reimagine the renewed Central Terminal as an East Side destination that will create local jobs, provide spaces for local businesses and entrepreneurs to grow, and build housing to retain local residents and attract new ones. Planned uses include year-round entertainment and events; a regional and international food hall that complements the nearby Broadway Market; culinary education space; mixed-income rental housing; affordable and attainable home ownership; light industrial and maker space; coworking and collaborative spaces; neighborhood retail spaces; and mobility options and transportation linkages.

As the most beloved building in Buffalo and Western New York, this living landmark represents more than just a building to save. It represents hope, possibility, and economic opportunity for all.

The adaptive reuse of the Central Terminal is an unmatched opportunity to shape a bright and inclusive future with the Broadway-Fillmore neighborhood and the larger East Side. It is a singular opportunity to support the strong future of a city and a region once again on the rise.

Supporters and champions of the Central Terminal believe in this vision. Through the Regional Revitalization Partnership, the reuse of the Central Terminal is bigger than itself. It is part of a community-driven, holistic economic development strategy designed to build community wealth across the region.

The Central Terminal is a generational investment, and momentum is building. Together, we’re reimagining this iconic landmark as a vibrant cultural and economic hub – beloved by a city and admired by a nation.
