Notes on Process:
Connie Saddlemire’s use of solar plates at the OG studio runs 10 years deep. In this largest piece to-date, she has printed, with Sue Oehme, 9 separate pieces from the same 8 plates, just in different densities of pale, slightly tinted white inks. All of her images were borne from a single photograph she took of her Corten corrugated wall outside her home, which she then manipulated in an app, to have smaller or larger “ridges” that change the rhythm of the lines when layered. Printed on black paper, the white inks become luminous and icy, leading her to the title.
