Crossroads Barber Shop

Welcome to the Crossroads Barber Shop! Here you will learn about the history of haircuts and shaves during the oil boom in the 1930s. If you look in the far corner above the sink, you can see a sign that shows the prices for haircuts and shaves. They were a lot cheaper back then than they are today.

You might have noticed the man in the hard hat sleeping in the corner. During the boom, finding a quiet and dry place to sleep was not easy. So, people would sleep where ever they could find a comfortable spot.

If you want to learn more about what it was like during the oil boom, you can step around the corner and enter the post office. The barber there will be happy to share some stories with you.
