The Ghosts of Buzzards Roost

We'll conclude our tour at the Half Wall restaurant, which was the site of DeLand's first post office. Early settlers would gather here like buzzards to wait for the mail and share local news. Before long, this location became known as "Buzzards Roost."

In a way, we're coming full circle. We're almost back to the Athens Theatre, where we began our tour. We're also joining a long line of spirits who have been killing time at this particular location, generation after generation.

Do some of the old ghosts still linger here? Of course. Raise a glass, make a toast to the past, and don't be surprised if you're joined by an assortment of spectral companions.
