Little is known of this 'Angel of music', previously thought to represent St Cecilia, in this lancet window hidden high up in the gables of the north transept above the clerestory.
The blue halo offsets her serene face as she quietly strums the harp. It may have been placed here to commemorate the fact that the organ once stood on a gallery in this transept. The window was probably made by Alexander Gibbs, and dates from the early 1860s.
Now continue through the gap between the organ and the choir stalls, and enter the north transept.
