1964, Oil on canvas
Hanna Merians (1925-1991) was a member of the local art scene for decades, painting in her Industrial Center Building studio. This oil painting depicts the Glad Hand restaurant (now Scoma's) in the 1960s where on Tuesdays a full-course dinner could be had for $1 and soups were described as white, red or green. Artist Enid Foster is in the foreground wearing her favored head scarf.
