MOE’S PLACE

STOP 7: MOE’S PLACE

600 DIXIE HIGHWAY

Just a few buildings down, you’ll find Moe’s Place at 600 Dixie Highway.

You might call Moe’s the Cheers of Rossford.

It’s the kind of place where people know your name.

But Moe’s story goes back much further.

The business began as Holefka’s Café, owned and operated by John Holefka.

The café welcomed all kinds of people—from high school students stopping in for lunch to workers coming off shifts at the Libbey Owens Ford glass factory.

It also became a popular gathering place after Rossford football and basketball games.

Next door was Holefka’s General Store.

Eventually, John Holefka sold the café to his nephew, Moe Minarcin.

The name changed to Moe’s Place, and the tradition continued.

Today, Moe’s is known for home-cooked meals and specialties such as Moe’s Balls and the Flaming Moe Burger.

The business is currently managed by Joe Haddad, known around Rossford as Harpo.

So, if you stop in, don’t be surprised if you hear a few stories along with your meal.
