STOP 10: ROSSFORD VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK
300 Hannum Avenue
As you leave the library parking lot, continue on Superior Street to Eagle Point Road.
The first street on your right is Hannum Avenue.
Follow Hannum Avenue to the end of the road, where you’ll arrive at Rossford Veterans Memorial Park, 300 Hannum Avenue.
Take a moment to look around.
You’re right along the banks of the Maumee River—a place that has attracted people to this area for generations.
The park was built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the 1950s and quickly became a favorite gathering place.
For many years, families came here for picnics and community carnivals organized by the Rossford American Legion and VFW.
Today, the park remains a busy place.
You’ll find people boating and fishing along the river. Little League teams use the ball diamond. There are tennis and basketball courts, picnic shelters and an all-inclusive playground.
And if you visit in August, you may find the park especially lively.
That’s when Rossford’s annual Riverfest brings the community together.
It’s another example of how the river—and this park—continue to play a role in Rossford life.
