First house built in Eagle Point Colony
Designed by George Rheinfrank for his
brother, Eugene who was a prominent
Toledo attorney.
Many Colonial details, includes two Tuscan
columns in entranceway and classic
Palladian window.
Portico in the front is the Federal period
style.
The hip roof is made of Ludowici-Celadon
Company tile, with each tile weighing 3
pounds. It features a large center hall, and an
elegant dining room overlooking the
Maumee River. A wooden banister leads to
the upstairs bedroom that includes dressing
and sitting rooms and two full baths. The
original design included a detached brick
carriage house and a screened porch offering
a wide view of the Maumee River.
