Watchhouse

Watch House

Audio transcription:

“My name is Todd Slaughter. I live in Columbus, Ohio. The sculpture is a result of the construction of the rec center. As I understand it, the funding came as a result of that. From the beginning I had a thought that the art would provide some experiential counterpoint to the rec center. Certainly, individuals go there, but I generally think of a recreational center as something that provides group activities, usually fairly large and organized activities, or large family activities such as swimming. The sculpture is intended as a contemplative space as a counterpoint to the more group-oriented activities that the recreational center provides.”
