Wilson Academy - 48 East Main Street
The residence of Rev. Lewis Thibou, who became the rector of Angelica’s own Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in 1831. In 1886, part of the estate of Rev. Thibou consisting of 13 acres of land and the large brick dwelling was purchased from Sara Scofield, his daughter, and altered to form a school. From 1886 to 1909 it housed 7th, 8th, and all high school classes plus a teachers’ training class that made up part of Wilson Academy. Its students numbered up to 100 and its library contained 1800 volumes! It is now again a private residence.
