Cooley House - 16 West Main Street

Now occupied by the American Legion Hill-Warner Post 414, the house once stood on a portion of the property at 64 West Main Street next to the Smith’s Sunnycroft. Mrs. Smith had the building moved to allow her a better view. Dr. Cooley had his office in a portion of the house. This year, the veterans’ organization is celebrating its 100th anniversary of receiving its’ charter. Activities such a street dance, as well as the refurbishment and reinstallation of the Vietnam War Era Howitzer out front, have been planned in commemoration.
