Lloyd House - 47 West Main Street
Built by Ransom Lloyd in 1834 from locally-sourced Joncy stone. In 1887, it was much improved by D.P. Richardson, in the form of a brick and frame addition, raising the roof over the stone part, ornamental window caps, and an artistic porch were among the many projects. Locals commented that Richardson “enjoyed modernizing the mansion and was conscious of having a sure thing on a good thing, and was in no hurry to complete the project.” Some Angelicans didn’t even recognize the place when he finally finished!
