First Baptist Church - 282 North Main Street

Originally the site of the Presbyterian church and now the First Baptist Church, this building is constructed from granite quarried right here in Port Deposit and dates back to 1872.

Reverend Benjamin Brown was chairman of the meeting in 1898 at which the First Baptist was legally organized.  He is said to have mortgaged his home to obtain the building for the Baptist congregation in 1904.
