The Bank building located at the intersection of Jacob Tome Highway and Main Street was built in 1906 of local granite, and faced in limestone. It served this community for 78 years. After the Wiley Manufacturing Company closed, the town could no longer support the full service bank and this branch closed in 1984.
In 1986, the bank gifted the structure to the town. In 2000, the property was purchased and restored by Linda Reed and Kim Risk. In 2002, it was awarded the national award of Construction Excellence for historic restoration. The building is now occupied by the Bainbridge Naval Training Center History Museum. This museum is opened on Saturdays and Sundays, from 1pm – 5pm, from mid-March to mid-December. Please stop by and enjoy it.
