Mami Yamamoto - "Sometimes Optimism Does Work"

Hello, my name is Mami Yamamoto. 

This print, titled Sometime Optimism Does Help, was created in 2023.

This is monoprint, which means it is a one of a kind print.

I use plexiglass for a printing plate.  I roll a thin coat of etching ink on the plate with breyer and design the surface.

I use a variety of designing techniques, such as stencils, hand drawings with sharpened disposable chopsticks, plastic forks, cloth,  q-tips, paper lithography and so on.  

None of the design elements were applied directly on the paper.  

When the design is completed, I print the image through an etching press on BFK paper.  

Then I clean the plate and start over for the second layer.  

I repeat this process multiple times to complete a print.
