Electro Hygiene Vacuum Cleaner, circa 1940

Victor and Mildred Clemence purchased this vacuum to use in their home in Climax, MI. What made this simple purchase special for the Clemence family was it followed the 1938 electrification of their rural Climax home. Along with this vacuum, they were able to purchase even more electrified items to help around the home, including a Montgomery Ward hot plate and electric iron, followed up by a Sunbeam Mixmaster electric mixer in the 1950s.
