Here we see the Public Art piece "Gestation" . This 10-foot high by 10-foot by 10-foot cedar wood sculpture is designed for Sun to sets exactly in the middle of this opening during the Winter Solstice, marking the rebirth of the life of the Sun and the coming birth of Spring.
Next to the Bestation Scupture is the Palisades Park Rose Garden started in the 1950’s and was dedicated to Arcadia Bandini de Baker in 1950’s, who donated the portion of the land that is Palisades Park today.
Walking to the end of the and most northern edge of the park is a totem pole made by the Chilkat Thlinger a Native American of Sitka, Alaska. It includes a wolf, bear, fish, and raven at the top.
