If art is an ocean, and our consciousness is but a small boat, bobbing on its surface, unaware of the depths that lie beneath as we create. We dip our oars into the water of the unconscious, stirring up the sediment of our deepest fears, desires, and impulses.
The waves of our art crash against the shores of our understanding, revealing new depths and omissions to our being like a painter steering in a blank canvas unsure of what will come. We must trust in the process, and allow the tides of our creativity to guide us, for its only by delving into the murky waters of our unconscious, that we can truly tap into the raw power and authenticity of our artistic expression.
