University Hall (601 S Morgan St)

Considered one of the most famous UIC landmarks is none other than University Hall (or UH as we like to call it).

This 28-story office tower is the tallest structure on campus and the most visible symbol of UIC’s main architect’s, Walter Netsch, revolutionary campus design. The building reflects Chicago's nickname as the “City of Broad Shoulders” due to its structure of being larger on top and smaller on the bottom.

Within this building you’ll find places like: The Chancellor’s office, Faculty and staff offices for the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS), Study Abroad Office, and the Office of External Fellowships to name a few. 

Back when I was a LAS student, I met with my advisors here for my mandatory first year advising, to schedule next year's classes, as well as make sure I am on track to graduate on time. Chancellor Michael Amiridis serves as the chief executive officer for the university and is similar to a high school principal

Besides being a campus landmark, UH is home to peregrine falcons that have nests on the ledges of the building. In fact, the falcons use them as “pseudo-cliffs” in the city.
