Second Floor Landing

Once you reach the top of the staircase, turn around and look at the stained glass windows. These are original stained glass windows containing coats of arms of the two branches of the Morgan family. They look similar as Sarah and George were 7th cousins; the animals in the lower left and upper corners differ slightly. The two crests also have different quotes. On the left, the quote in Latin roughly translates to “she who perseveres wins,” and the other in English reads “Onwards and Upwards”

To the right is the Morgan's sitting area. In the 1930s, the Bonsal family refurbished this area into a private chapel, walling off the open archways.

The staircase that is roped off leads to the third floor, where there were additional guest rooms as well as servants' quarters.

Turn around and follow the arcaded gallery, which overviews the Musician's Gallery, to continue the tour in George Morgan's bedroom.
