The Carriage House was built in the early 1900s when the estate was owned by the Endicott family. During this time, the carriage house stored the estate’s carriages and horses. The family had a carriage for every day of the week. Each carriage had a designated purpose based on the tasks to be done that day. The stalls where the horses were kept are on the right side of the building, and the carriages would have been stored in what is now the Carriage Room, on the opposite side of the building. Today the Carriage House serves as the Visitor’s Center for the park, containing restrooms, the Carriage and Conference Rooms which are rented out for parties and business meetings, respectively, and the Nature Center. In 2018, the Nature Center was created to showcase the rich wildlife that calls Endicott Park home with live animal enclosures and taxidermy specimens. The Nature Center is normally open to the public on Wednesdays from 9-5 and Saturdays from 9-1. Due to COVID-19 our facilities are closed until further notice. We look forward to being able to open to share these places with you all.
