Sorg Opera Company

In 1990, the Sorg Opera Company was founded, and for the next fifteen years presented regular seasons of opera with a full orchestra. Working in partnership with the Whitewater Opera Company, performances would be staged first in Richmond, Indiana, then in Middletown at the Sorg Opera House. This continued until the Whitewater Opera Company closed in the early 2000s. The financial constraints were too severe to overcome, and the Sorg Opera Company closed a few years later.
