Alistair Dunnington - "Indoor Games"

Hello. My name is Alistair Dunnington and you are looking at my monotype.

Instead of giving you a bunch of meaning behind the piece, I will not because I probably know just as much about it as you do.

But I will give you a short artist statement that might shed some light on my process as an artist.

Here it is:

The human figure is a relatable subject, a personal and recognizable one. In my practice, I explore the figure and interactions with surroundings and other beings. Creating as an artist has allowed me to deepen my self-awareness and my understanding of the world around me. With my imagery I continue to acknowledge existence as well as relate to others. Through painting, drawing, and printmaking, I enjoy and connect to my own experience as a person. Abstraction, automatic drawing, and media exploration are some methods that inform my process.

I hope you enjoy the work.

Thank you.
