The exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Monica Lovinescu's birth is an invitation to rediscover the landmarks that can build or rebuild a society. Romania today is not a healed country. We still carry the trauma of our parents and grandparents, and speaking the truth and using words correctly are still difficult exercises that we must practice every day. We would have learned a great deal from Monica Lovinescu if we had had the chance to study her in school, but she is not remembered as she should be. We dedicate this exhibition to our parents and their parents, whose lives were mutilated by the totalitarian regime. And who hoped for us to live in a better world.
