The Green Room

The Green Room begins the transition from the Morgan’s side of the second floor to the guest side; all rooms from here on out that you will see would be for guests. Today the room can be used as a dressing room for brides as their “green room” when we have weddings at the mansion.

While there is a balcony-looking landing visible out the window and it is at the same level as the second floor, it was not used as a second story balcony as there was no access to it. The railing was for architectural purposes only so that it was symmetrical with the railing on the level of the back veranda on the first floor.

All of the windows on the second floor are clear glass while the majority of the windows downstairs are stained glass. Each bedroom had two sets of shades, one dark and one that allowed some light in, so the amount of light could be controlled.

Continue into the blue dressing room, where smaller accessories and items are on display. The next stop will be in the next room, the Blue Room.
