The Presence of Silence (2019)
Graphite, charcoal, gel pen on paper
In the artist's own words:
"This still life of objects on a table captures what a moment of silence can feel like, while signaling the potential for the obiects to communicate their presence either to the viewer or among themselves. This art piece represents my first fully rendered still life project from a Foundations of Drawing I class that I took during my undergraduate education. The question is: How do you visualize the empty table space? If it was silence, would you rather fill it out?"
