Dr. Stefanac, a long-standing and beloved School of Dentistry faculty member and Oral Medicine & Periodontics Professor Emeritus, is also an accomplished ceramicist who has been producing works for a number of years. His high school guidance counselor suggested art courses as an extracurricular once they learned he was interested in dentistry as both fields necessitate manual hand dexterity. He later went on to succeed in both fields.
