Torre de Menagem, or Tower of Keep

Torre de Menagem, or Tower of Keep, was the Castle’s main tower, which was best prepared to resist heavy attacks and sieges.

This is where the royal flag was hoisted, and therefore, it was a symbol of the King’s power and authority over the city and its people.

A few meters next to this tower is the Tower of Ulysses, to the right.
