Welcome to the Tiny Room for Elephants Festival Audio Tour, presented by Love and Grit, a podcast from Visit Philadelphia that explores the authentic and diverse stories of the city.

The work you are viewing is by artist Priscilla Bell Lamberty.

This work is inspired by the artist's family from Puerto Rico. Currently, there's a lot of displacement happening. Billionaires are moving down there to buy lots of land which is causing local residents getting kicked out of their homes, schools being shut down to become Air B and B's and endangered animals to be killed due to new developments being built. The artists inspiration for the TRFE festival comes from the power of protests and the impact of people coming together.

When asked, what does the phrase “made with love, inspired by grit” mean to your creative process, the artist responded: “The love for the land, water, animals, and the people. We're all interconnected. No one is above anyone else.”
