Welcome to the Tiny Room for Elephants Festival Audio Tour, presented by Love and Grit, a podcast from Visit Philadelphia that explores the authentic and diverse stories of the city.
The work you are viewing is by artist Malachi Floyd.
This work is inspired by The insanity of life, the problem of holding back in the moment of talking about things/holding your tongue for too long.
When asked, what does the phrase “made with love, inspired by grit” mean to your creative process, the artist responded: “What "made with love, inspired by grit" means to my creative process is that art needs passion, something that's coming from the heart. Art comes from love. However, it's nice to leave a piece a little rough. Art doesn't have to be super clean and cut out just to fit a mold. It can stand out by itself whether it's a sketch or buffed out and let it speak for itself.”
