Guest Room

This room was always intended to be a guest bedroom. It is tucked to the back of the house, away from the excitement of all of the children, and it has it's own bathroom, ensuring a level of privacy guests would appreciate. Additionally, it does have a closet, but it is perhaps the smallest bedroom closet in the house, which is appropriate for a guest room.

Travel to Midland was difficult at this time. No reliable passenger train came to town, so the Dows were generally picking up guests from Bay City or Saginaw. This meant that visitors put a lot of time into getting to The Pines, so the Dows wanted to make sure they were comfortable for the duration of the visit.
