Two children of the Brunzell family are laid to rest here. Frederick Julius died at age 11 from inflammation of the bowels, perhaps appendicitis. Frederick had immigrated from Sweden with his mother, Anna Andersdotter Brunzell, and two brothers, arriving at Ellis Island in 1871. They then joined their father, Jan Magnus in Silver shortly thereafter. Jan kept saloon in Boonesville and later Silver City. The couple had at least eight other children during their long marriage and several moves, eventually settling in Nampa where they are buried. Frederick’s obituary said he had “just arrived at an age when he was beginning to be of some service to his parents. He was a bright lad and seemed to give evidence of having a promising future before him.
Three-year-old Albert is also buried here. Albert Winchester is the grandson of Jan and Anna and the son of Oscar Brunzell and his wife Laura Winchester. Albert was born in Silver City and died at Reynolds as a result of accidently taking a fatal dose of strychnine. Albert's father Oscar spent many years in Owyhee County, serving as the assessor and tax collector and a sheriff of the County. He also owned the Livery Stables with Mr. R.H. Leonard, Jr. at one time.
Many members of the large Brunzell family stayed in Idaho after the decline of the mines, ranching and farming in Murphy and Canyon County.
