Wagons were essential for the day-to-day operations of a working ranch. The Leonis Adobe Museum has an extensive collection of wagons in various sizes, all with specific functions. Some wagons were used to haul heavy loads such as ore, rocks, and other building materials. Smaller wagons carried grain or firewood. Tankers with side troughs were used to deliver water to both herds and work crews. Most of the wagons on the grounds have descriptive signage. You can find additional details about individual wagons on our website.
