Davenport

Davenport

Erected by Charles Davenport about 1835, it is a Greek Revival in exemplary of form developed for narrow New York City lots. The rear of the house appears to be the oldest part where a small two-room structure was built around a huge fireplace. The hall and parlor have original stairs and woodwork while the bay window and porch are improvements of about 1880.
