Seiver block

Seiver Block

This combination commercial and residential building was constructed on the site of the former Exchange Hotel, which burned in 1895. William Seiver bought the property in 1898 for $800! Seiver operated a general merchandise store, as well as an electrical and refrigeration contracting business for more than 50 years. In the 1960’s the Angelica Registered Store and the Western Auto Agency opened here. After those businesses outgrew the property, the Seiver Family regained possession. It then eventually sold and the Village Gallery, along with showcase of Angelica-made Shadowdancers moved in. After the gallery closed, several antique shops, a glass shop, and video store existed in the building. It is now home to one of many eclectic antique shops on the lower level and apartments on the upper floor. Explore and find yourself some treasures today!
